My Writing Path

Introduction

I have always been a writer.😊😊 Though not sophisticated at the start, the passion has always been there. To write, to tell stories and to educate people through my writing. I won’t say I started writing at the age of 3😂 NO!!!

The best time I can remember is in my junior school days. I wrote stories about my environment, my friends and little things my little mind could imagine.

The journey started in my senior class 1, say 2009/2010 when our English tutor gave an assignment to the class to write on the topic “my pastime “ He added afterwards that the assignment wasn’t going to be graded so one could choose to do or not do it. In his words, “it is compulsory optional “😂😂

I got back to the hostel, all through the day till evening prep classes...my mind moved back and forth as to what to write. I loved dancing (I still do🙈); but how do I make it make sense to my teacher? How do I put it into meaningful writing? We weren’t permitted to use mobile phones in the dormitory...simply put, NO GOOGLING 😒

I was moved by passion or should I say, I had to wake the writer in me to live, I started confused and unorganized. Yeah!!! That’s permitted 💪 But Before I could realize, I was above the 450 words required. I had to reread, restructure, reduce and rephrase.

The following day, I submitted my essay without expectations. I just needed a score. It didn’t turn out to be just a 8/10 but a call to more writing. The teacher took a special interest in my writings and encouraged me to keep writing by giving me more things to write about. It’s been years after and I am still writing.😊💪

What Motivates Me

We all have a story to tell. We experience the world differently and thus possess different perspectives about the things we see. I want to tell my story my own way in my own words. This alone drives me.

Have you ever met a good narrator who tells a simple story in a way that turns it into a classic? The joy that comes with such mastering is an inspiration to me.

I love to tell stories, more importantly I love to know that people read my work and understand it clearly. I am usually just motivated by other people, by the fact that people read my content and enjoy it or when it changes them for the better.

I write about my views on some life issues on Facebook, people come to my DM to tell me how much that changed their lives. This is my motivation.

Where I Want to Be

First it was just a fun thing for the fun of it but a little intentionality won’t hurt right?

I decided to become more intentional about my writing, not just to improve, but to be able to meet people’s needs through my work.

I signed up for Hashnode earlier this year and started writing on tech related topics. The experience has been awesome.

However, blogging isn’t all I want to do, I want to solve real life issues in the tech world through writing. People often believe Technology is one hard 🔩 nut to crack...it doesn’t have to feel or be that way.

Through my writing skills, I want to help people understand technological tools in its simplest form. This includes writing tutorials in the most easy to understand terms, creating content on how-to derive the best out of any technology, etc

Tech is not hard. Tech is not frustrating, you only need to understand it.

A wise man said "Live your passion. Do what you love. Help people. The money will follow

I joined the @ Hashnode boot camp to learn more about the Arts and Crafts of Technical Writing and it has been a great experience.

I am fully energized to turn my passion into a paying career.💪💪 My goals as a writer have changed. My aim is to work as a Technical writer for a Tech company. I want to help them explain their technological tools and infrastructure to the world in the best possible and understandable approach.

I am here for this.💪
